Teaching Philosophy

My goal as a teacher is to empower the students to achieve their maximum potential in my course. This can be achieved by encouraging students to be active in their learning process and designing the course syllabus and classroom environment to promote this viewpoint.

I believe that a successful teacher should be able to tailor the course materials toward the learning objectives, design aligned activities to generate enthusiasm and interest in the students, and to actively use assessment as a method of feedback to improve the course based on the learners’ expectations. The course material should be designed in a way to complete the Kolb’s learning cycle for the students.

An instructor should create an environment based on mutual respect that promotes inclusivity and equity. This environment encourages the students to help their peers and enhances positive communications among students.

I will devote my energy to make a positive community environment for my learners to help them act creatively and make mistakes in the class, to learn from their mistakes in a supportive environment.

In summary, I refuse to blindly follow the traditional instructional paradigm that is inherited to us. I believe that the instructor should be always in the learning process to find out the best learning practices.
