Less, More, and None

Last year I read The Power of Habit and I think everybody needs to read this book since it explains how habits are formed and how we can change them. The most important massage for me, apart from the scary stories about how enterprises use our habits to make more revenue, was the fact that habits need to be changed slowly and gradually. It is a marathon and losing your balance sometimes means you need to start everything over again.

I can see it clearly when I look in my habits for checking social media. Reducing the screen time is a gradual and difficult process, and I can easily return to high screen times if I let myself loose within a week. So, I got the idea from here and decided to write a list of things I want to do less, things I like to do more, and things I want to completely stop doing. To stick to the goals, I decided to write them here.

Less

  • Instagram
  • Overthinking
  • News

More

  • Spending time with my girl friend
  • Reading
  • Outdoor events and exercise
  • Cooking

None

  • Checking my phone when I wake up
  • Procrastination

I am going to track my progress and update the list as time goes on!
